Thousands of mourners attend the funeral of Pope Francis in St Peter’s Square

Tens of thousands of mourners attended the funeral of Pope Francis in St Peter’s Square today. US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian leader Volodymr Zelenskyy, President Michael D Higgins, and Taoiseach Micheál Martin are among the dozens of world leaders in attendance. The funeral service has now ended and a group of people from marginalised communities will be among the last to pay their respects to the late pope before his burial.
