Hey, so this deserves some explanation. Of course, audio is a bummer and there are glitches in the final cut playback. Hope this doesn't distract. Beyond that, I'm happy with the piece as an aesthetic hint of what I'm trying to say about my experience with this course. It's heavily influenced by Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace and the Wilderness Downtown video, hence the portions of the music video Deep Blue, which is actually related in content as well. The hope was to look at the idea of network/richness of data/remix of life/moving pictures/abstraction in light of the doubts of data's potential and questions of the meaning of our time here, which I'd contend we are actually coming closer to answering through the wealth of choices and agency that state-of-the-art mediation allows. Also, with this, is the sort of conclusion segment that raw life as analog is essentially nothing and that beauty is derived from like juxtaposition, and I guess context, but mostly a sort of underlying resonance that data and, broadly, visualization can, in fact, reveal.
