PALEMBANG, KOMPAS.TV - Soldiers from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force visited the People's Struggle Monument Museum in Palembang. They came to foster camaraderie during a joint training session with Super Garuda Shield 2022. Dozens of soldiers from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force visited the People's Struggle Monument Museum, or Monpera, in Palembang. Their visit was a gesture of camaraderie during a joint training session with Super Garuda Shield 2022 in Baturaja, East Oku. Monpera serves as a reminder of the struggle of the people of South Sumatra in defending Ena, one of the landing sites for the Imperial Japanese Army during the 1942 Pacific War. It was also a Japanese occupation zone until the 1945 War of Independence. During this visit, they presented Kumihimo, a traditional braided woven craft from the Land of the Rising Sun, as a symbol of peace and friendship between Indonesia and Japan.
