The LEGO Group’s latest licensed series of collectable minifigures will no doubt delight and satisfy fans of its animated comic book movie source material, but there are a few gems in here which will also please LEGO fan community members with interests outside the Super Heroes themes. There are plenty of arachnid-themed superheroes and villains that this series could have pulled from, as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the many (many) recent comic book films to feature parallel dimension shenanigans and multiple variants of familiar superheroes. What’s particularly interesting about this series of collectable minifigures is that it’s the weirder, wilder, more obscure characters that are often the most fun inclusions in this lineup, and the this series shines brightest when it’s giving blink-and-you’ll-miss-it characters a little more attention than their screen time might warrant.
