AWFUL THINGS

tw: violence, death, physical/sexual abuse, homophobia it's been a while since i've edited just to edit, especially for live action. i didn't really have a point in mind for this video, i just really wanted to edit to as you are and kill your darlings, and later i decided to also use the butterfly effect and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, cuz i didn't want to fetishize gay couples only or whatever? idk. i also normally don't edit to mainstream music, but i have a soft spot for this song and a few others by lil peep and the idea has been stuck in my head for a bit so i decided to do it. i started last night and finished today which is very quick for me this is incredibly raw and has a lot of voice overs, a type of video i don't try a lot but i felt like it fit for this song. i messed with the song, added some reverb and pitched it down a bit, for aesthetic and also to avoid copyright. some of the voice overs are a bit hard to hear since the characters are whispering, but i tried my best to make them all audible and not sound ugly. i also added no effects or coloring cuz it didn't rly need it. i contemplated adding text but then decided not to. these are 4 of my favorite movies! as you are and kill your darlings are just amazing films. wonderful characters, cast, soundtrack, emotional and perfect. eternal sunshine is also a wonderful movie with amazing music that i love, and the butterfly effect, while definitely being very dark, is a favorite as well. i need to edit more live action videos just for the sake of editing, focusing on multiple movies instead of one. i'd dare say this is a vent of sorts which is fun to do with something besides animash. also i can be more sexually explicit with humans. i wanted this to focus mostly on the relationship between the 4 sets of characters, but other topics come into play. fear of being gay in lucien/allen and mark/jack's case, abuse and trauma from the past when it comes to evan and kaylee, and the relationship generally turning sour for joel and clementine. i know nobody will really get this video but that's okay. well, there's really nothing more to say, hope people like this but i really made it for me. this description is kind of shittily written, it was supposed to make a lot more sense but i forgot what i was gonna say soo also i'm gonna write down all the voice overs here since i know they're hard to hear 0:00 - "i've been thinking a lot about..." 0:05 - "go be you now all by yourself, and leave me alone." "maybe we can." 1:13 - "what about everything we said before? what about 'fuck everybody else', right? we are who we are, right? so then what fucking changed? what did i do wrong?" i know i didn't fix the aspect ratio to make all the clips full screen. i like it that way. now if you'll excuse me i'm gonna go take a walk in the woods and get high
