The following is a project that started on May 4th 2009. It was a day that represents when I met Ido Portal (from Israel). Ido is an extraordinary individual, both physically and philosophically. His spearheading these movements are not an end in and of themselves, but part of a much bigger picture. Ido has become truly as a kindred brother of whom I hold in highest respect and regard for. Therefore, it should be noted without any reservation that Ido, was the man for starting all of this for me. After competitive bodybuilding, weightlifting, martial arts, cycling- not to mention the various team-sports- I was looking to re-invent, and completely change my training. Ido was the catalyst for this. "Don't let your age, or size get in the way of becoming something special". - To Ido, "Brother, you have no idea how influential your words have become!" The following is a compilation of exercises (albeit, not all) of the the body weight strength training that I've been working with over the last year. There have been many adjustments, changes and modifications that were necessary for practical application, but the concepts and intentions have been preserved in a raw work ethic of the One Year clip. I am not a gymnast, or cirque performer- I am a man who is passionate with physical exploration, and pushing the limits of our bodies-learning from the path less chosen. This path is NOT EASY. At the time of my filming my bodyweight was at 201lbs. Very unusual a person to be performing most of these particular movements. This is not complete without the mention of an individual by the name: Yuval Ayalon. As a cirque performer in LeReve (Las Vegas)- Yuval has given so much of his time in sharing his knowledge of equilibre with me. I credit so much of my expedited growth in handstand work to him. Yuval has also been essential in the development of what is presented here. He too, has become my brother. With many self-less hours he's overseen, corrected, and made modifications to my handstand work- To Yuval, "You are worth more than gold to me my friend!" Honor is Very important to me so I'd like to therefore mention a few people instrumental towards my continued growth- Ido Portal Yuval Ayalon Chris Charnos- training partner Kelly Whitten- massage therapist Ron Murray- Osteopathic medicine ..And the rest who have supported, and continue to show their support. I offer my deepest gratitude. Just remember... This is only One Year! The best is yet to come. Warmest Regards, Steve Atlas Come in and train! www.atlastrainingsystems.com www.thebodypractice.com
