The Philippines stunned regional powerhouse Singapore in a relay shocker on the opening night of swimming at the 33rd Southeast Asian Game sin Thailand on Wednesday. The Philippines edged favoured Singapore to win the women's 4x100m freestyle in 3:44.26. Singapore, which have topped the SEA Games swimming medal table since 2005, picked up its first two gold medals of the 2025 competition with wins by Mikkel Lee wins men’s 100m freestyle and Letitia Sim, who won the women’s 50m breaststroke in a new SEA Games record time of 31.03-seconds. Vietnam's Tran Hung Nguyen continued his dominance in the men’s 200m individual medley by winning his fourth consecutive SEA Games gold in the event. Indonesia's Jason Donovan Yusuf won the men's 100m backstroke. Thailand's Kamonchanok Kwanmuang won the women’s 200m butterfly gold. (not shown)
