Aryabhata – India’s First Satellite India launched its first satellite Aryabhata on 19 April 1975. It was built by ISRO in Bangalore, but launched from the Soviet Union using the Kosmos-3M rocket. Rohini RS-1 – First Indigenous Mission On 18 July 1980, India launched its first fully indigenous satellite Rohini RS-1 using its own rocket SLV-3. This mission was led by Dr. A.P.J.
