Steve Austin won the 1998 Royal Rumble. On Raw, Vince was about to announce Mike Tyson as the ref for the Wrestlemania match. Austin interrupted, offered to fight him and said the wrestling ring is his. Things got heated between them until the officials held Austin back. Two weeks later, Road Dog faced Austin. When the match started, DX attacked Austin, tied him up to the rope until Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie came out to save him. Next week, Austin stole Michaels’ belt to bait him. Vince announced that Tyson will be the enforcer of the match. DX called out Austin that night, he got surrounded, then Jack and Charlie came from under the ring to scare them away. A non sanctioned tag team match happened at No Way Out, where Austin’s team won. Three weeks later on Raw, Michaels seemed to fight Tyson, just to rip off his shirt, revealing a DX T-shirt. Austin came out to fight Kane, but he got attacked by DX. Same thing happened next week. They met at Wrestlemania 14. At the end, Austin countered Michaels, then he countered Austin, just for Austin to counter him, hit him with the stunner, Tyson counted to three and Austin won his first world title. Then Tyson knocked Michaels out.
