Dining by candlelight… but not the way you think!🕯️✨ We visited From Here by Mike at @1hotels Melbourne in Docklands to try something truly groundbreaking, dishes made with cultured meat from @forgedbyvow. So first of all, i’m sure you’re wondering.. what is cultured meat? Instead of farming animals, Forged begins with a single cell from a Japanese quail. Over 79 days, those cells are nurtured and grown in small batches, focusing only on the flavour rich parts chefs actually want to cook with. No fillers, no synthetic additives and no animals harmed in the process. It’s not vegan, it’s not vegetarian - it’s real meat, just made differently. 🕯️ Quail Tallow Candle - it looks like a candle, burns like a candle, but is made from cultured Japanese quail blended with herbs and oils. As it melts, it turns into a rich, savoury dip with a subtle floral note, perfect for dipping into with some sourdough. 🥖 Quail Parfait - a whipped pâté that takes on a velvety, melt in your mouth texture with bold umami depth. Smooth, rich and completely moreish. Forged isn’t trying to replace the meats we already know. Instead, they’re rewriting the rules of food, creating deliberately different meats with flavours and textures never seen (or tasted) before. It just might change the way we think about meat forever. ad | #deliberatelydifferent
