Forty years ago on August 12, 1985, Japan Airlines Flight 123 became the deadliest single plane crash in history. A tailstrike in 1978 and an incorrect repair to the rear pressure bulkhead on Boeing 747 146SR JA8119 led to explosive decompression, loss of the vertical stabilizer, total hydraulic failure, a 32 minute struggle using engine thrust only, and impact near Mount Osutaka. #JapanAirlines #Flight123 #Boeing747 #Aviation #PlaneCrash #AviationHistory #MSFS #AirDisaster
