But all of us come to worship the God who enters our real, messy lives. Come, let us turn our hearts to Emmanuel — the God who is with us, right here and right now. People: We come to wait, watch, and welcome the Light with hope. Candle Lighting (Joy) Leader (L): “From the very beginning, God chose to come close — not as an idea or a distant voice, but as a child born into an ordinary, complicated family. In Jesus, God entered our world, our questions, our weariness, our mess. And this is our joy: God is with us.” People: “Today we light the candle of Joy, celebrating the God who meets us where we are and fills even our ordinary days with His presence.” L: “May this light remind us that joy is not the absence of struggle, but the nearness of God in the midst of it.” Opening Prayer Emmanuel, God with us, You draw near to us not from far away but from right within our lives. You meet us in our joy and our sorrow, in our hope and our worry, in all the places that feel unfinished or uncertain. We thank You that You are not afraid of our mess. You enter it with compassion, with humility, with love that takes on flesh. You are our present help, our strength, our joy. When we feel overwhelmed, remind us that You are here. When we feel unworthy, whisper Your grace. When we cannot see the path ahead, shine Your light in our darkness. As we continue this Advent journey, teach us to welcome Your presence in all things and to carry Your joy into the world You so deeply love. Amen.
