He traveled the world bringing medical assistance and training to people and animals alike. On one of his missions, he even had the honor of helping an elephant with an abscessed foot! It was during his many missions that his love for teaching medical preparedness and canine first aid emerged. Adal saw working canines in need with little to no access to veterinary services in the field and began to educate himself on how to respond to and treat military canines first aid needs. Since 2003, Adal has continued his medical response mission as a civilian ground and flight medic, caring for, rescuing and treating people and pets in need. Adal teaches many first response courses to include human First Aid, CPR, Stop the bleed, Wilderness First Aid and of course Canine First Aid. He also consults in emergency preparedness. Among his other pack members, human and canine, Adal’s teaching partner was an Australian Cattle Dog named Fiona, who was the inspiration behind Ugly Puppy Consulting. We are not only focused on Canine First Aid. Ugly Puppy consulting is still in its “puppy” stages and we have some big paws to fill so we are taking each step intentionally forward.
