Let's Find Out Which Microphone Gives You the Most Tingles ✨ (3DIO vs Blue Yeti vs EM272)

My first non-VR video ever!! (besides the livestream.) I thought the 2D format was better suited for this video where I test out my new microphones. In the spirit of this video, I did not edit/de-noise/clean the audio like I usually do, with the exception of bringing all the mics to the same volume, and adding a hard limiter (volume cap) so I don't deafen you when I accidentally bump the microphones. Which mic gave you the most tingles? Please comment your thoughts on the microphone test before reading any further . . . . . . . . . Here are my thoughts on the lineup. Blue Yeti X - $149 The Yeti X is a versatile, affordable and well-rounded mic. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to try out ASMR. The convenience of a USB connector shouldn't be overlooked. An audio interface (which I needed to use for the other two microphones) can easily set you back another $100-$200. While all the sounds are super tingly on this mic, I like how sharp and crisp my whispers sound on the other two mics a little more. EM272 (pair with XLR cables) $80 - $120 The cost of these varies greatly by how much of the microphone is "pre-made". For example, if you want just the capacitors (aka condensers) you can get it for ~$80. I got my mics hooked up as lavaliers so I wouldn't have to make my own casing and wire the XLR cables myself. This cost $40 more for a total of $120 for the pair. As mentioned above, in addition to the cost of the microphone capsules, you will need to buy a digital recorder or audio interface to act as a middle man and boost the audio signal before your computer receives it. Despite the awkward setup with the mics clipped to my shirt, I found the audio super tingly. When I played back a clip of me swallowing, it sounded like someone was swallowing right next to my head. Crazy. 3DIO Free Space - $399 Right away, I noticed that the 3DIO seemed to pic up high frequency noise that the other mics did not. Since the EM272 didn't have this problem, I am assuming that this has to do with the jack cable. XLR cables has additional technology inside them that mitigate noise. Besides the noise, the audio quality is nice, crisp and three dimensional. For that reason, I prefer the 3DIO over my current setup with the Blue Yeti X. πŸ“ I offer a free mp4 download of one of my virtual reality videos here to watch locally on headsets: https://www.patreon.com/posts/file-as...
