Oh boy, where to begin? Let's just say I've got my UE4 working and I've been addicted to making custom animations. So since this project is definitely going somewhere, I've decided to give it an official name: Project Nachtflügel. This video not only showcases the reason I stay up all night, but it also showcases a brand new moveset and animations for Yozora. Originally I hadn't planned on giving him his own moveset due to my UE4 being messed up at the time, but oh that's changed. Keep in mind that a lot of what you see here is subject to change in the future. My new plan for Yozora is to make him play and feel much different than any of the other characters. Currently, most of Yozora's animations have weight and purpose. A lot of Yozora's animations are separated into multiple parts, such as the windup for a slash, then the slash itself. I've strung a lot of these animations together in 3ds Max to create combo's that flow together nicely in terms of weight and animation. I've given Yozora his own spells, such as Laser Shot and Crystalize (which is just Blizzaga for now). Yozora also has his own custom Shotlock - Illegal Finish, and a sort of Warp Strike in place of AirStep. And since I kept hearing complaints about it, I looked into increasing Yozora's running speed to match his running animation. My solution was to make Yozora compatible with the Improved Movement mod, which lets you adjust the speed of certain animations to your liking via a menu that will automatically load your preferred settings whenever you start the game, so you won't have to change the settings every single time. I've been focused more on combat instead of environment traversal animations, but don't worry, I'll get to those. This mod was my sole inspiration for learning to mod this game in the first place. When I first got KH3 on PC, I wanted 2 things- Fully Playable Yozora, and Fully Playable Aqua. But I'm passionate about making playable characters in general, it's my absolute favorite kind of mod. I remember when I first began, I could only spawn Yozora in a T-Pose, nothing else. Looking at it now, it still blows my mind. This is actually the first real mod I've really worked on for any game. Sorry for my rambling, I just really like sharing my thoughts with all of you. I can assure you that I have not stopped working on this project since the last video was posted, and while there is still work to be done, I really hope I can share the finished product with all of you very soon. I do have another character project as well, but I won't reveal it just yet.
