Pakistani police mourn victims of suicide bombing in latest attack targeting security forces

The Islamic State and the Tehreek-e-Jihad militant group both claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces in western Pakistan have been increasingly targeted by militant groups, particularly since the Taliban returned to power in neighbouring Afghanistan in 2021.
