A symbol of his promise to the earth after the great flood to never let the waters destroy the whole earth again. (Genesis 9: 8-17) (And while yes, it is a scientifically proven phenomenon, God is the one who designed nature to begin with. 🌈💫) One of my absolute favorite songs is "O love that wilt not let me go" (you can listen to it here:    • O love that will not let me go -Indelible ...   ) and my favorite verse says "Oh joy that seekest me through pain, I cannot close my heart to thee, I trace the rainbow through the rain, and know thy promise is not vain: that mourn shall tearless be." There have been many times when I have been so broken and hurt that I wanted to turn my back on God, I wanted to be angry at him, and I didn't understand why he was letting things happen. But God is not a complacent God. He's not distant, he's not callous, he's not waiting for us to figure it out on our own, he's a pursuing God, a loving God, a God who chases after you even in your darkest moments and wants to bring you close to him. To shelter you with his wings and give you peace through every storm. Even when I wanted to turn my back on God, I knew he was reaching out his hand to me, offering hope and joy that was seeking me through the pain, and all I had to do was take it. I can't close my heart to him, no matter how many times I've tried, because I know that he is a faithful God, he keeps his promises, and he chases after me just like he's chasing after you. Have you ever felt like you're trash? Maybe that's what you've been told all your life, or maybe that's what your mind bombards you with every time you fail. I think we all feel pretty worthless sometimes. But one man's trash is another man's treasure - the devil wants you to believe that you don't matter, that you're insignificant and unworthy of love, something that should just be thrown in the trash and forgotten about. But that's a complete lie and not at all how God sees it. To God you are the most precious thing in the universe - more precious than his own life - and that's why Jesus came to this world - because there's nothing he wouldn't do to save you, no price that is too much to pay. Jesus died a painful agonizing humiliating death on the cross because he knew you were worth it. You're a treasure to him. And even if you never choose to accept his sacrifice and the gift of his love, he still did it anyway because he wanted to give you that chance. He loves you so much, more than you could ever know, and after he died - taking the punishment for our sins and making a way for us to have the hope of eternal life and a restored relationship with God - he came back to life, because he's God and he has the power to conquer death. Have you ever been scared of dying? Have you ever wished you could escape it? We all will die one day, but our spirit lives on, and if you put your trust in Jesus you can be confident in knowing that you will spend eternity in heaven with him. 💖 But what about life here on earth? What about everyday struggles that feel like an endless torrent of rain? Remember when I said he is a faithful God? If you put your trust in him and take a hold of the hand he's offering you, he promises to never leave you nor forsake you. He understands you completely and will be with you wherever you go - beside you at the highest of heights and with you through the lowest of lows. 💞 I know this because that's what he's done for me. I hope you know it is not my intention to offend anyone by saying all this, and to be honest I was planning to make this really short, but I know life is hard, and I know it can often feel like there's an endless spread of storm clouds above you, and I've been feeling that way myself a lot lately. So I wanted to encourage you, that no matter what situation you're in, no matter what lies you've been told, you are a treasure. 🌈💖💎💕 Jesus proved that when he died to save you, and if you are searching for a light, for a hope, for someone who will love you and defend you forever, he's already reaching out his hand and all you have to do is take it. 💕 Another quote I really like says "When rains look for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars." There's always good to be found if you choose to look for it, and God promises to one day wipe away every tear, and make everything new and beautiful in its time.
