Holy Mass Daily Readings and Reflection - September 26, 2022, | Daily Gospel Today Reflection | Luke Monday of the Twenty-sixth Week in Ordinary Time 1st Reading: Job 1:6-22 Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 17:1BCD, 2-3, 6-7 The Acclamation: Mark 10:45 Gospel: Luke 9:46-50 Personal Reflection Today’s Reflection on the Readings Prayer The gospel reading for today makes me think of a lovely little tune that I really enjoy. Little very little be very little before God (2) Unless you change and become like little children You will not enter the kingdom of heaven Unless you change and become like little children You will not great the kingdom of heaven Personal Reflection What does it mean to me to be like a child? Today’s Reflection on the Readings Jesus defines "real grandeur" in the gospel of today. According to him, being truly great is mostly dependent on our capacity to be humble and put others before ourselves. In today's reading, we learn that the disciples were self-absorbed and full of vanity, ego, and self-interest, much like the majority of us are. Jesus explains who the real leader is in this situation. According to him, a true leader is someone who is dependent, humble, open, and loyal, just like a little child. Jesus is gently reminding every one of us that "our very call is to serve, not to dominate." Yes, everyone has access to the Holy Spirit's creative power, including the people of other faith. Someone casting out demons in the name of Jesus is what we discover in the Gospel. Let's all cooperate to advance God's kingdom. Prayer Dear Jesus, I am grateful that you made it clear to me that in the Kingdom of God, greatness is determined by a person's ability to serve others. Thank you, Lord, for humbly offering me your Body and Blood in the Eucharistic feast, fortifying and nourishing both my body and soul. Lord, I beg you to be the best treasure I will ever possess. Lord, may my encounter with you in the Eucharist prompt me to reflect on the routine, everyday ways in which I encounter you and you encounter me. May almighty God bless us, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. I thank all my subscribers for your constant support of this channel.
