The ballet “The Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky is a work based on a Russian folk tale about a magical bird that had the ability to burn everything around with its dazzling radiance. However, despite its fiery nature, the Firebird was unreachable and elusive, and anyone who tried to catch it failed. The ballet tells the story of Ivan Tsarevich, who embarks on a dangerous journey to catch a Firebird and save his beloved Vasilisa. Along the way, he meets various fairy-tale characters, such as Kashchei the Immortal, Baba Yaga and the Mermaid, who help or hinder him in his search.
