A few months after Hotel Transylvania 2, Dracula (Adam Sandler) feels desperately lonely since his wife passed away. His friends try to introduce him to other women, believing that he should turn the page because it has been more than a century since it happened. But Dracula still believes that a "zing" - magic monster love at first sight - only happens once and that there is no point in trying to get over it. Mavis (Selena Gomez) believes that he is entitled to a well-deserved break, especially since he has not left the hotel since its construction. At her initiative, all of Dracula's family and friends get together for a surprise: to go on vacation aboard a luxurious cruise ship specially dedicated to monsters, departing from the Bermuda Triangle. During the cruise, Dracula "zings" with Captain Erika (Kathryn Hahn), who appears to be the descendant of Professor Van Helsing (Jim Gaffigan), the infamous monster hunter.
