The Punjab School Education Department has announced a change in school timings across the province due to severe smog conditions. According to the official notification, schools will now operate from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday) and from 8:45 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday. Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb stated that air pollution levels have worsened due to winds coming from India, making Lahore the most polluted city in Punjab. Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat had earlier hinted at the change via social media.
