A red head and talking sword = dynamic duo? Transistor, a game brought to us by the guys who made Bastion, SuperGiant Games. You play as Red, a woman who has lost her voice and gains a talking sword during an incident against the "Process". The Process looks to claim the life of Red and capture her newly acquired sword. Presumably the soul of Red's lover, the sword guides Red on her quest to take back everything. [Thoughts on the game] This is a really cool game that mixes elements of an action game with an RPG element. For the most part, you play the game in real-time using an array of moves to clobber the mechs that stand in the way. However, too many enemies may prove too threatening, forcing you into the RPG element: turn-based attacking. By freezing time you can queue up a string of attacks that take up a part of the turn gauge. Once attacks have been chosen, the moves will unleash in quick fashion - dealing quick damage, in exchange for you inability to attack until the gauge completely fills back up.
