We got this one out on time, which feels pretty good, and the next ones should also be out on schedule! This theme is, for very obvious reasons, a modern classic. It's pretty emblematic of the Mario Galaxy series, with its epic scale and beautiful soaring melodies, especially the third and final section. Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 are some of the best games out there, and the music definitely contributes to that. For the arrangement, we wanted to start with something pretty soft, almost like a lullaby, which is why we went with electric piano, no drums, and clean sounds. For the second, more exciting loop, we went for acoustic guitar for rhythm to give it a more organic feeling, and tried to make the drums pretty exciting and dynamic. They should also hopefully be a lot louder than in the previous covers. The part which was the most fun to arrange was the spacey electro section in the middle, which we thought would be able to capture the feeling of being in space. It's also a bit of a test run for the next cover, which uses drum machine sounds a lot more! Gusty Garden Galaxy was composed by Mahito Yokota and this arrangement put together by Haawke.
